Alkamil College of Business



The Department of Accounting was established as an integral part within the Department of Computer and Information Technology at the Faculty of Science and Arts in Al-kamil province since the academic year 1430/1431. Then the Higher Education Council issued decision No. 27/66/1432 in the year 1432 for the restructure of Al-kamil College of Science and Arts to establish three separate faculties, one of them is the faculty of Business. The Faculty comprises seven departments: the Department of Management Information Systems, Department of Human Resources Management, Department of Accounting, Department of Finance, Department of Marketing, Department of Management of Health Services and Hospitals, and the Department of Law. A royal order No.54727was issued on18.11.1432 for its approval.


Accounting is the discipline offered within the college which is the most important disciplines required in the labor market of the Kingdom and the world.  The demand for this specialization is more when you will compare with different colleges/ universities inside and outside the Kingdom. The importance of this specialty in the felid of business is more because all state agencies/ departments and companies need more specialized professionals  and  in the field of the profession of Chartered Accountant (Audit).


The department of accounting provides integrated program with the collaboration of other departments’ .It keens to provide students with science, knowledge and various skills of accounting as well as equipping them of latest scientific developments in the field as per international accounting standards.

Department’s Mission:

The department of accounting seeks to create a dynamic environment through the provision of high quality programs and services, conduct research, and provide professional education in the field of accounting and auditing. It also aims to provide innovative solutions to the public and private sectors, financial counseling, and community services through the provision of training courses in the field of accounting, auditing and financial analysis.


Department’s Objectives:

The department of accounting aims to provide an integrated program in collaboration with other departments within the college to enable students to obtain a bachelor's degree. The department aims at achieving the following objectives;

1. Contributing to the dissemination of knowledge of the accounting and auditing by providing scientific programs based on references in the science of accounting and auditing.

2. Contributing to the development of accounting and auditing through scientific research in areas relevant to accounting and auditing.

3. Providing community with qualified graduates.

4. Presenting financial consultancies based on financial analysis for governmental, economic, commercial, industries, service or banking institutes.


The Linkage of the Department with the Objectives and Mission of the College:

The faculty of business aims to qualify students enrolled with basic knowledge in many disciplines such as management information systems, human resource management, accounting, marketing, finance, law and management of health services and hospitals. It focuses on quality through modern and advanced curricula based on scientific theories and practical applications in Saudi Arabia. It also seeks to supply the Kingdom of its needs of specialists in various fields.

The specialization of accounting is at the forefront of business in the present time. It has attracted the focus of most business colleges/ universities in the Arab counties and other countries of the world. The department of accounting at Al-kamil College of business was established to keep up with recent developments in the field of accounting. The department of accounting is responsible for developing modern curriculum based on recent developments in the science and the profession of accountancy. It emphasizes the linkage of these developments with the development of international accounting standards. In the meantime, it should be linked with the objectives and mission of the faculty. The department is keen to design modern and advanced curriculum based on concepts in Islam, modern scientific methods, accounting standards in Saudi Arabia, International standards of accounting, and local and global auditing standards.  

Department’s Admission Requirement (General Conditions):

1.     Follow the procedures adopted in the faculty for admissions and distribution of students to scientific departments.

2.      Obtain good grades in English language and computer courses for the first year for science students only and obtaining good in the principle of accounting.

3.     Select students based on grades obtained in the first year and the possibility of acceptance in the department in terms of the number of students.

Graduation Requirements:

Student at the Department of accounting must pass 128 credit hours distributed as follows:

1.     26 Credit hours of university requirements.

2.     36 Credit hours of college requirements.

3.     51 Credit hours of compulsory courses.

4.     9 credit hours of optional courses.

5.     6 credit hours of free university requirements   (from outside and inside the college).


Graduates’ employment opportunities:

The main areas of work for graduates of accounting are as follows:

1. Practicing accounting and auditing

2. Financial consultancy and feasibility studies and economic evaluation of different projects.

3. Working in department of accounts in private, public companies and government departments.

4. Working in various departments of financial institutions (banks, insurance, investment, stock exchanges).

5. Working as tax examiners in income tax and zakat ministry/department.

6. Working in the General Auditing Bureau.

7. Working in various sections such as warehousing, purchasing, sales, training, wages, pensions and statistics.

8. Auditors.

9. Financial Inspectors/supervisors.
